Faye Makatza (she/her)Co-Director
Faye practices mindfulness for balance, deeper connection and exploring the meaningfulness of living in the moment. A quote that resonates with her deeply is from Thich Nhat Hanh: “We have a lamp inside us. The oil of that lamp is our breathing, our steps, and our peaceful smile. Our practice is to light up the lamp.” This quote reminds her that; we are the lamp; we have the tools to light the lamp and mindfulness creates the spark that lights the lamp. Faye has a background in art, community outreach & Nonprofit leadership. She has been studying the mind/body healing connection, sound healing & meditation since 2012 and is currently working towards Reiki Certification. Her super powers are compassionate curiosity, empathy and organizational awareness. Her happy place is next to the ocean or near any body of water. What Faye would like you to know, “Service is my purpose and mindfulness is a mission that I am excited and passionate about sharing with others.” |

Her Nova Scotia roots run deep and she has memories of performing the Scottish fling in a tartan when just a wee one. What Kara-Lee wants you to know is “Swimming in open water for a long period of time is a favorite way to practice being in the moment.” |

This is radical mending and reconciliation." Nicole has a Masters in Public Health from University of California, Berkeley, and is currently a student at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. Nicole's super power is nurturing calm and serenity. Her happy place is on the water paddleboarding, or in the water (warm water only) scuba diving with underwater creatures. What she wants you to know is "Mindfulness opens up a whole new universe to explore, to rest in, and to be. And it's open to everyone, no matter who, no matter when." |
